Wikipedia BlackLivesMatter(BLM)is a decentralised political and social movement
that seeks to highlight racism, discrimination, and racial inequality
experienced by black people. The motive of this movement is to promote

It is heart
breaking and unimaginable to think of how till this day black people have not
been released from the shackles of racism. despite many initiatives that have
been placed to bring justice none have actually put down the matter of black
lives being spared to rest.
Advantages
of social media in public relations.
Social media
can be deployed and applied in numerous ways to create a good image or tarnish
an image of an organisation or company. Social media has done exceedingly well
in reaching out to people worldwide regarding BLM Campaign. Hands Down! The
hashtags that are created to spread the
word or create awareness are able to reach many platforms and people in minutes
one hashtag can be reposted and can be a viral hashtag. E.g 2 years back there
was a case of a black American guy by the name George Floyd who lost his life
in the hands of white police officers, his case was one of the most viral cases

Organisations can use social media to promote diverse activities including building brand awareness, and promoting research. Hence during the BLM movement we saw brand in particular clothing brands creating clothing written ‘black lives matter’
.
While we may know that the role of a PRP is to maintain a favourable image of an organisation, social media can do the total opposite. During the Black Lives Matter campaign there were unpleasant and quite disturbing footages of the actual scene in which the victims took their last breaths, this became a very huge negative impact for the company in which the accused officers were working for as it completely tarnished the reputation of the law enforcement company. Recommendations.
Going forth
when having campaigns that raise awareness there should be regulations put so
people using social media can use it safely and not overuse it in a negative
manner. With regards to BLM people worldwide should continue standing against
violence against any people of colour and not just blacks.
